Features

With both USB and Ethernet connectivity the DR-G2100 Series scanners provide businesses with a high-performance, reliable, and flexible scanning solution as part of a robust document management system. The DR-G2100 Series scanners are capable of handling a wide variety of document sizes, from business card up to 11 x 17 inches. Flexible paper feed and output guides further enhance the scanners’ ability to reliably feed all types of documents.

Wide Variety of Applications

The DR-G2140 scanner is ideal for processing large amounts of documents in mission-critical, centralized production scanning environments. It has been developed to withstand the rigors of production-level scanning while maintaining high-speed, high quality imaging. The DR-G2140 scanner can help businesses improve productivity, maintain continuity, increase efficiencies and securely manage information

High Performance

The DR-G2140 scanner handles up to 140 pages per minute—both sides in a single pass*—and holds up to 500 sheets in the ADF. It is also equipped with a dedicated, onboard image processing chip, making it capable of maintaining fast scanning speeds, independent of PC performance. These features all help contribute to improve productivity

Reliable and Flexible

This scanner is flexible enough to reliably handle a variety of document types, from business cards to ledger-sized documents, long documents, and thin or thick documents,** using its advanced feeding mechanism. This helps reduce labor-intensive pre-sorting and job preparation. Plus, double-feed detection helps to ensure that no data is lost. A durable, solid-body design as well as heavy duty feed and eject trays contribute to the scanner’s reliability.

Ethernet Connectivity

In addition to the USB connectivity, ethernet connectivity is also included in the DR-G2140 scanner, adding to the scanner's installation and operational flexibility. Plus, ethernet connectivity support can be helpful for use in Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) environments

Bar Code Software Included

The DR-G2140 scanner now includes the Canon Bar Code software. This software has the ability to:

  • Can read up to 4 bar codes per page
  • Separate files by barcode
  • Name files using barcode data
  • Create or point a file to a specific folder using the barcode data
  • Export the file name, path, and date/time stamp as a .csv file
  • Reads bar code formats:
    Codabar, Code39, ITF, Code 128, UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN

Efficient, Smooth Operation

The DR-G2140 scanner features an intuitive control panel that allows easy access to scanner settings, and user-programmable job buttons for one-touch operation. This scanner is also equipped with a motorized paper feed tray that can be adjusted to the height of the batch, and flexible paper feed and output guides. FADGI Edition

FADGI Compliance Installation Package

The Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package helps government agencies meet the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative recommendations1 that should be followed when it comes to scanning, processing, and creating digital replicas of permanent hard-copy documents and records.

ON-SITE INSTALLATION

As part of the Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package, Canon U.S.A., Inc. will replace the firmware of select imageFORMULA scanners with custom firmware designed to generate images that conform to the quality and performance guidelines defined for the FADGI Modern Textual Records category. During the on-site installation, a Canon service technician will install the firmware onto the Canon scanner and configure Canon CaptureOnTouch software2.

STREAMLINED VERIFICATION PROCESS

Upon completion of the custom firmware installation provided as part of the Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package, the Canon service technician will also test the compliance to confirm that the Canon scanner, in combination with Canon CaptureOnTouch software, is now ready to start generating FADGI compliant images. Additionally, a verification report will be supplied via email confirming FADGI compliance.

ELLIGIBLE CANON SCANNERS

The Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package is currently available for new and existing Canon imageFORMULA DR-G2110, DR-G2110 USB, DR-G2140, and DR-G2140 USB Production Document Scanners3.

To be eligible, the scanners must be in good working condition and covered either under an eCarePAK Extended Service Plan or a service plan provided by a CUSA Authorized Service Provider.

Canon eCarePAK

For Canon imageFORMULA DR-G2110, DR-G2110 USB, DR-G2140, and DR-G2140 USB Scanner protection, eCarePAK options are available to extend service beyond the initial 90-day, on-site limited warranty period. This can save on costs associated with post-purchase maintenance and help maximize uptime throughout the product life.

  1. FADGI compliance requirements are subject to updates by participating U.S. Federal Agencies. Visit www.digitizationguidelines.gov for the latest FADGI requirements and information.
  2. To enable FADGI compliance, the Scanner’s driver settings may need to be changed, and Canon CaptureOnTouch software must be installed on the customer’s workstation that is connected to the Scanner. The Firmware may affect the scanning speed of the Scanner.
  3. The Canon Installation Package for FADGI Compliance cannot be ordered for existing scanners covered under an Authorized Service Provider Care Plan (only under a eCarePAK service plan)
