The Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package helps government agencies meet the Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative recommendations¹ that should be followed when it comes to scanning, processing, and creating digital replicas of permanent hard-copy documents and records.

As part of the Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package, Canon U.S.A., Inc. will replace the firmware of select imageFORMULA scanners with custom firmware designed to generate images that conform to the quality and performance guidelines defined for the FADGI Modern Textual Records category. During the on-site installation, a Canon service technician will install the firmware onto the Canon scanner and configure Canon CaptureOnTouch software².

Upon completion of the custom firmware installation provided as part of the Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package, the Canon service technician will also test the compliance to confirm that the Canon scanner, in combination with Canon CaptureOnTouch software, is now ready to start generating FADGI compliant images. Additionally, a verification report will be supplied via email confirming FADGI compliance.

The Canon FADGI Compliance Installation Package is currently available for new and existing Canon imageFORMULA DR-G2110, DR-G2110 USB, DR-G2140, and DR-G2140 USB Production Document Scanners³.

To be eligible, the scanners must be in good working condition and covered either under an eCarePAK Extended Service Plan or a service plan provided by a CUSA Authorized Service Provider.

For Canon imageFORMULA DR-G2110, DR-G2110 USB, DR-G2140, and DR-G2140 USB Scanner protection, eCarePAK options are available to extend service beyond the initial 90-day, on-site limited warranty period. This can save on costs associated with post-purchase maintenance and help maximize uptime throughout the product life.

This scanner is flexible enough to reliably handle a variety of document types, from business cards to ledger-sized documents, long documents, and thin or thick documents,** using its advanced feeding mechanism.
